Collins Street Properties Pty Ltd is proposing to develop land located at 170 Boundary Road and 62 Collins Road, Dromana, Victoria, for the development of a residential subdivision and associated infrastructure. The proposed action includes construction and operation of a residential estate including housing, infrastructure, recreation land and biodiversity conservation land. The proposed action was determined to be a controlled action under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) and has potential to impact the threatened species Swamp Skink Lissolepis coventryi.
The project area encompasses 28.5 hectares of land located at 170 Boundary Road and 62 Collins Road, Dromana approximately 59 kilometres south of Melbourne CBD. The project area is located on undeveloped land in the south-eastern margin of Dromana and will create 250 new housing lots averaging 494 square metres in size, which are appropriately sized, shaped and dimensioned to suit a variety of dwelling types. The project incorporates infrastructure to service the future residential development, including water, electricity, NBN, stormwater and sewer services.
A 6.99-hectare conservation reserve is proposed to be created in the south-east corner of the project area, with this area identified as supporting high-quality native vegetation and known and suitable Swamp Skink habitat.
